See 7 Phones That Are Better Than The iPhone 6

The iPhone 6 is a quality phone. It represented some of the quantum leaps Apple has been taking in the smartphone market, as the iPhone 6 was the company’s first foray into the phablet market. The iPhone 6 line had been met with critical acclaim and praise, which was well deserved; it truly is a great phone.

But it’s a stretch to call it the best smartphone in the world with the new waves of flagships to have hit the market.

Samsung has finally created a worthy competitor to the iPhone. LG’s newest phone is an underdog that packs a huge punch. And for the first time, Chinese phone companies are finally taken seriously.

Here are seven handsets that certainly can boast the claim of being better than an iPhone.

* Samsung Galaxy S6
It’s a travesty to not include the best Android phone of the year in this list. Arguably the best Galaxy S phone since the S3, the S6packs an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM. It also has a sharp, 5.1-inch 2160p Super AMOLED display, by far making it one of the best smartphone screens today. The much-maligned TouchWiz has been scaled back for a prettier and simplified UI. What really makes the S6 shine is the camera. Its 16-megapixel snapper fitted with OIS handily beats the iPhone 6 in low-light situations, HDR photos, and normal conditions.

* OnePlus One
How could the a one-year-old phone from a relatively unknown phone manufacturer be better than the iPhone?
Because it only costs $299.
For that price you get:
*.5.5-inch 1080p screen
*.Snapdragon 801 processor
*.13 MP camera
*.Cyanogenmod UI

The camera is perfectly capable of delivering high-quality shots, while the UI allows you to customize nearly everything about your system (you can use on-screen menu buttons or capacitive ones). All this at less than half the cost of all the big flagships out there.

* LG G4
The LG G4is one of those smartphones that just doesn’t get enough hype for all its efforts. It has a 5.5-inch QHD display that certainly gives the S6 a run for its money and a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. It’s not the extremely impressive camera (16-megapixel camera w/ OIS, laser autofocus, and color spectrum sensor) or the leather back covers that makes the G4 better than an iPhone. It’s because it stays true to the old Android values of a removable battery and SD card. Its value can’t be underestimated.

* Sony Xperia Z5
The Z5 may not have come out yet, but its mouth-watering specs certainly puts the iPhone 6 to sleep. The iPhone line was always so popular for making revolutionary steps with every new iteration. While some steps may not be truly “new”, you can’t deny that the iPhone has had an impact in the smartphone world.

But it’s time for Sony to claim that.

Yes, it uses the infamous Snapdragon 810 chip and has 3GB of RAM. It has a 3,430 mAh battery. It’s waterproof and on paper its camera seems to be the best out there. What makes it so revolutionary?

It’s the first smartphone to have a 4K UHD display on a 5.5-inch screen. That gives you an eye-popping 806 PPI. For comparison, the iPhone 6 only has a PPI of 326. That’s a HUGE difference, and the official release should confirm that.

* Moto X Style/Pure
The Moto X Pure is a serious contender for Phone of the Year. It’s fitted with an 808 Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. It features removable storage and a 21MP camera that’s good for everyday pictures. The best feature of the Moto X Pure is Moto Maker, which allows you to customize the phone in a variety of ways. Throw in the fact that the Moto X Pure comes with no bloatware and carrier apps, and you have a winner. Oh yeah, add the $399 starting price as a knockout punch.

* Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Samsung’s annual phabletjust got updated a few weeks ago, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s similar to the S6 in just about every regard, except for the screen size (S6 is 5.1-inches vs the Note 5’s 5.7-inch display) and RAM (the S6 has only 3GB vs 4GB for the Note 5). And yes, it comes with that stylus that everyone seems to love so much.

* Nexus 6
The aging Nexus 6 manages to surprisingly snag the last spot on this list. That’s mainly because it won’t be left in obscurity for awhile; as of this writing, the Nexus 4 currently has Lollipop 5.1.1., showing that the Nexus line will get updated for awhile. But the phone isn’t for everyone. It’s a huge phablet that packs a QHD display in a 6-inch screen. Yes, 6 inches. Other than that, it has a half-decent camera, a great Snapdragon 805 processor, and the purest Android experience you can possibly get.

At the end of the day, the device you like best will come down to preference. All the devices all this list and the iPhone 6 among other phones are great. It’s a matter of opinion to really decide which is the best phone out there right now.
